    Periodontist

    Dr Mercado has been a Periodontist for more than 20 years with private practices in Penrith and Blue Mountains (Specialist Periodontal and Implant Centre). Tino holds an A/Prof position at the Periodontal Post-Graduate Department at the University of Queensland. His PhD topic and latest publications in peer-reviewed high impact journals are on predictable management of peri-implantitis and management of periodontal recession on teeth and implants using autologous and alternative tissues.

    He is the NSW Councilorfor the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists and a Periodontal examiner at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS).     Mehdi completed his Bachelor in Dental Surgery at the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2002 and Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics at the Univrsity of Melbourne in 2008. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University, a guest lecturer at both the University of Sydney University and Melbourne University.

    Mehdi has published in the field of forensic dentistry and Endodontics. Mehdi was awarded the Sir Allan Wilkinson award for research in Medicine and Dentistry from the University of Otago, the Young Researchers Award by the International Association for Dental Researchand and the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award of Merit. He is a CPD mentor for the Australian Dental Association (NSW branch), President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW branch), past-president of the Australian Asian Association of Dentists, fellow of the International College of Dentists, a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, member of the Australian Dental Association (NSW) Education & Research Committee, member of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in Endodontics, and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.

    Dr Cecilia So is a dentist with practice limited to surgical dentistry and oral implant. After completing an undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) degree at the University of Sydney in 2003, Cecilia went onto a hospital based surgical training post in the UK as a Senior House Officer for two years, achieving her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons with the Royal College of Surgeons, London, by examination in 2008.

    Her interest in oral implants lead her to complete the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) USyd and she is now a Clinical Associate at University of Sydney both mentoring and lecturing for the program. She is also involved as an executive committee of the Australian Osseointegration Society.

    Cecilia has been a senior dental officer at Westmead Centre for Oral Health, providing surgical dental services in the Special Needs Unit from 2009 to present. Cecilia has focused her professional interests on oral surgery and implant dentistry and enjoys being involved in teaching, with a particular interest in mentoring recent graduates and working as a visiting surgical dentist both in metropolitan Sydney and rural NSW

    Dr Clarence Tam is originally from Toronto, Canada, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery and General Practice Residency at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto, respectively.

    Dr Geoff Young obtained his BDS (University Medal) from the University of Sydney in 2002, and his Specialist degree from the University of Melbourne in 2007. He went on to establish Sydney Endodontic Centre – the largest specialist endodontic group practice in the Inner West of Sydney. Dr Young was the first endodontist in NSW awarded Fellowship of the RACDS in the Special Field of Endodontics, and is a current examiner for the FRACDS (GDP) final examination. Dr Young is committed to clinical teaching at the University of Sydney, as well as developing and providing continuing education through the ADA and RACDS.
