Dr Kareen Mekertichian Dr Kareen is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist in a private practice in Chatswood, establishing the first Specialist referral practice in Sydney, Australia in 1995. Focussing solely on children’s dentistry, Sydney Paediatric Dental Services and Kids Chompers were launched to provide a unique environment to facilitate access and comprehensive oral care for children and adolescents across Sydney and NSW. Being solely focussed on children’s dentistry allows Kids Chompers (also known as Sydney Paediatric Dental Services) to offer the best possible service and unmatched supportive environment, leading the industry in the field of paediatric dentistry.
Dr Kareen completed his dental degree (BDS) in 1986 at the University of Sydney and obtained his postgraduate qualification and training at Westmead Centre for Oral Health (WCOH), completing his Masters Programme (MDSc) in 1993. Dr Kareen obtained his Primary Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 1989 and subsequent Secondary Fellowship in 1992.
Dr Kareen has also been honoured with membership as a Fellow to the Pierre Fauchard Academy, as well as to the International College of Dentists.
Dr Kareen has maintained his association with WCOH and the Children’s Hospital Westmead together with ongoing involvement in providing continuing education, teaching and mentoring across many facets of dentistry. Dr Kareen is an active member of numerous National and International organisations involved in clinical care and research relating to the child patient. Dr Kareen has maintained presidential and executive roles on several dental and specialist bodies, as well as acting as external examiner for the RACDS and the Postgraduate Paediatric Dentistry Masters course at Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
Dr Kareen also regularly contributes as a key advisor to several industry and specialist dental groups aiming to ensure that Sydney Paediatric Dental Services and Kids Chompers remain at the forefront of contemporary Specialist Paediatric Dentistry within Sydney, Australia and the wider Australasian region.
