Dr Engelbrecht will provide a snap review of general practitioners’ most common questions and concerns relating to general practice-based oral surgery.
The presentation will also cover management of patients at risk of bleeding, management of patients on immune-modulating drugs, managing patients on bone-modifying medications, and managing the failed extraction and treatment planning for the compromised patient.

Dr Hanlie Engelbrecht Dr Hanlie Engelbrecht is a South African trained Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria and her post-graduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. She completed a Fellowship in Craniofacial Cleft Surgery at the Pretoria Craniofacial Cleft Clinic, the biggest cleft clinic in Africa.
She relocated to Melbourne in 2013 and is currently employed at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, at a private practice in Hawthorn and the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne and University of Melbourne. She holds specialist registration in Australia as an Oral Surgeon and is passionate about being part of the team at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Dental Oncology, since 2016.
