Learn how to Plan, Guide and Restore Dental Implants
A two module treatment planning, restoratively driven implant planning and Digital Smile Design education. Providing specialist driven training with mentorship during the program.
Module 1: March 14th and 15th
Module 2: May 9th and 10th
Topics covered in the first Two Modules include:
- Medical history: Medical history red flags.
- Consent: Dental implant consent protocols.
- Anatomy: Back to basics in dental anatomy.
- Treatment planning: Patient driven treatment planning with digital and analogue restorative planning.
- Radiography: CBCT (When, why, and how), and implant software planning.
- Implant Components: Instruments, implant design and implant selection.
- Restorative-Considerations: Abutment selection, material selection, and restorative design.
- Hands-on impression taking, scanning, DSD training and Implant Studio training.
- Digital Impression taking.
Prosthodontic components are given by Dr Praveen Nathaniel, Periodontal aspects by Dr Fiona Chan, and Dr Luan Ngo provide adjoining specialist driven education.

Dr Fiona Chan is a compassionate, vibrant dentist who attained a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Queensland. Her holistic approach to integrated patient treatment places special emphasis on minimal intervention dentistry and preventative oral health regimes. Fiona’s participation in the Oral Inflammation and Atherosclerosis Research Program at the Prince Charles Hospital led to her thesis aimed at establishing the role of periodontal disease as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. As the recipient of a Colgate Travel Grant, she presented her research at the 2010 IADR Australia and New Zealand meeting. Aside from periodontics, Fiona is also passionate about other aspects of dentistry, including aesthetic fillings and crowns.

Graduating with honours from the University of Melbourne in 1999, Luan worked in both public and private practice until 2003 when he commenced a Ph.D. in the field of periodontics looking at biomarkers for periodontal disease. Luan completed the didactic component of his specialist training in periodontics in 2009 and since then has been working in both private practice and as an academic at the University of Melbourne.Luan is currently the Lecturer in Periodontics and Convenor of the undergraduate (now graduate entry) periodontics program at the Melbourne Dental School. Luan is also currently the president of the Australian Society of Periodontology (Victorian Branch). Luan is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialist field of Periodontics.

Dr. Nathaniel is a specialist prosthodontist in full time private practice in Glen Waverley, Moonee Ponds and Berwick. He is the principal dentist at the Melbourne Prosthodontic Centre. Dr. Nathaniel graduated as a dentist in 1986 and worked in general practice for 4 years then finished his Masters in 1992 at the University of Melbourne.He is well experienced in multiple implant systems, being involved almost at the start of implant dentistry in Melbourne. Praveen has been restoring over 10 systems over the last 27 years and placing 5 systems for the last 13 years. He is passionate about continuing education and has attended many courses with the leading figures in implant dentistry.Dr Nathaniel has had a long history of teaching the undergraduates, dental nurses, hygienists and overseas dentists as well as running and presenting continuing education courses for dentists including lectures and courses for numerous implant companies and University of Melbourne. He has lectured extensively locally, interstate and internationally
