    Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist

    BDSc(W.Aust), MSc(OMR)(Toronto), FICD, FADI, FPFA, MRACDS (DMFR) Clinical Prof Bernard Koong is a highly experienced and internationally respected oral and maxillofacial radiologist and is one of the founding partners of Envision Medical Imaging. He is Clinical Professor at The University of Western Australia. He has a long history of teaching oral and maxillofacial radiology at several universities, including The University of Western Australia, The University of Sydney, The University of Hong Kong and Griffith University. It included the provision of the radiology course for the Masters Degree programme in implantology developed by the internationally renowned Prof Klaus Lang. He also contributes to training the Western Australian radiology registrars of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. As an invited speaker, Bernard has presented more than 120 lectures to the dental and medical professions across Australia and also in the USA, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Hong Kong (SAR, China) and New Zealand. He was Vice Chairman and member of the Scientific Committee of the 33rd ADA Congress. Bernard is author of the Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (Wiley-Blackwell 2017). He is also author of the radiology chapter of the 6th edition of Lindhe and Lang’s Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (Wiley-Blackwell, 2015). He is a contributing author for Zygomatic Implants (Springer 2020) and the Glossary of Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology (Quintessence Publishing 2015). Bernard has also authored several publications for various professional Australian and international organisations, including the radiology guide for the Australian Dental Association (2019). Bernard was the inaugural President of the Australian Academy of Dento-maxillofacial Radiology. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Clinical Oral Implant Research journal. The only North American qualified oral and maxillofacial radiologist in Australia, Bernard completed his specialist training with the world renowned Professor Michael Pharoah at the University of Toronto, where he was the first oral and maxillofacial radiology registrar to win the prestigious Harron Award and Scholarship. It included training at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto.

    BDSc(Hons), MFDS RCSEd, DClinDent(DMFR) Dayea (Dee) Oh is an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. Dee received her Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons) from The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2015. She completed her Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) in 2018 at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), followed by the three-year Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology at The University of Queensland 2020. It included training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, private radiology practices and at the School of Dentistry at The University of Queensland. Dee holds the position of Senior Lecturer at UWA’s Dental School and leads the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology components for the DMD programme. Dee is a member of AADMFR (Australian academy of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology).

    A Cardiologist with subspecialty training focused on non-invasive cardiac imaging, Lorry completed his general Cardiology training at Royal Perth Hospital. With an emphasis on heart failure and non-invasive diagnostic imaging throughout his training he completed his fellowship in New York under the umbrella of the Cardiovascular Research foundation. Lorry’s USA training was primarily in cardiac MRI, predominantly based in a private outpatient centre with affiliations to major Manhattan hospitals. Lorry is a Cardiologist with a fellowship in Cardiac Imaging, and is accredited by the conjoint committee of the CSANZ/RANZCR at the highest level. He has a Level 3 MRI equivalency by the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance accreditation guidelines. Lorry has given invited lectures locally, nationally, and internationally, and is a passionate believer in the future of ‘high-tech’ cardiovascular imaging. He maintains his clinical Cardiology skill set as Head of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Service of Western Australia, based at Royal Perth Hospital.
