DR GREGG H. GILBERT, DDS, MBA, FAAHD, FACD, FIC
Dr. Gilbert is Distinguished Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is Chair of the Department of Clinical & Community Sciences at the UAB School of Dentistry. His research interests encompass oral health clinical, practice-based, oral epidemiology and dental behavioral sciences research. Dr Gregg is National Network Director for The National Dental PBRN (USA), which is funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, an institute of the National Institutes of Health.
The U.S. National Dental PBRN is a network of dental practices committed to advancing knowledge of best practices and improving dental care through practice-based research. Its mission is to improve oral health by conducting dental practice-based research and by serving dental professionals through education and collegiality. Qualitative and quantitative research is conducted by engaging dental practices in the network and has resulted so far in 38 studies and 157 peer-reviewed scientific publications in a total of 50 different peer-reviewed scientific journal titles. The network is funded by the U.S. NIH National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), academic and professional organizations and other research grants.
