Course Outline

This course provides training in the planning and delivery of porcelain veneer restorations. The hands-on program systematically covers the complete workflow from aesthetic rehabilitation planning to restoration delivery, and utilises a diverse range of resources, including 3D printed models based on actual patients. Dentists will receive digital templates for smile design, burs for veneer preparations and a digital handbook for patient education. Attendees will also receive The Versa, an innovative bur and veneer holding stand designed by Course Convenor Dr Alan Yap, and exclusive to CREED CE Porcelain Veneers. Early registration is recommended as this course has sold out on every occasion.

    Dr Alan Yap

    Convenor: Porcelain Veneers, Implant Prosthodontics 1& Implant Prosthodontics 2 Alan completed the Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Science in Prosthodontics with Honours, at the University of Sydney. He was awarded the ITI Scholarship to attend the Department of Periodontics at the University of North Carolina. Alan was awarded Membership to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the ITI, and Member of the Education and Research Committee of the Australian Prosthodontic Society. He served as a Federal Executive of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, Member of the Planning Committee of Continuing Education in Dentistry at the University of Sydney, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Australasian Osseointegration Society. Alan holds the title of Honorary Clinical Lecturer for the University of Sydney. He was a mentor for the Graduate Diploma of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) program at the University of Sydney and mentor for the Postgraduate Diploma of Dental Implantology at Charles Sturt University. Alan is a lecturer and examiner in Prosthodontics for final year dental students at the University of Sydney. He is a registered speaker for the ITI and lectures locally and internationally. He has publications in the International Journal of Prosthodontics and the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants. He is a reviewer for the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants and is a contributor to the textbook "Oral Rehabilitation: A Case-Based Approach.”

    Chee completed both his BDS and DClinDent in Prosthodontics in New Zealand in 1999 and 2009 respectively. He is involved with teaching of postgraduate students at Melbourne University, and has presented at conferences nationally and internationally on a variety of topics relate to prosthodontics. He has a long and keen interest in biomaterials, and has an emphasis on aesthetic treatments in his practice. Chee is a key opinion leader and product evaluator for a number of leading dental companies, and is also an invited reviewer for a number of international dental journals. Chee is a Past President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society at both the state and federal level.

    Ken is a dental specialist with dual qualification in prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Clinical services in his Miranda and Sydney private practices comprise all facets of prosthodontics including implant, aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. His professional career spans 26 years and has included roles in general and specialist private practice in Sydney CBD, metropolitan and NSW regional locations. He has also held public and private hospital appointments. Between 2005-19, he held multiple roles within Sydney Dental School (undergraduate, postgraduate implants and prosthodontic programs, and professional education), Charles Sturt University and James Cook University (postgraduate implant programs). He is is an Executive Member of the Scientific and Continuing Professional Development Committee, Academy of Australia and New Zealand Prosthodontists (2016-), is Past Federal President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (2013-15), and previously held executive membership with Continuing Education in Dentistry, Sydney Dental School (2011-19), including a five year term as its final Chair.

    Dr Nour Tarraf


    Nour completed his Bachelor of Dentistry at Cairo University with Honours in 2001. He moved to Australia and completed his Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney with Honours in 2008. He received the University Award for the best postgraduate performance in the Masters Degree at the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as the International Merit scholarship for three consecutive years. Nour completed the Membership exams in Orthodontics for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2008. He is the current President of the Australasian Society of Lingual Orthodontics and holds membership with the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Orthodontists, European Society of Orthodontics and the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics.

    Tony Rotondo graduated as a dentist in 1984 from the University of Queensland and completed specialty training in Prosthodontics in 1996 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Tony is a registered prosthodontist and practices in Brisbane. Tony has a specific interest in aesthetic dentistry, reconstructive dentistry and implant dentistry. Over many years he has developed a reputation within the dental industry as someone who practices at the very highest level. He has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate dentists at the University of Queensland and the University of Sydney. Tony has been the president of the Australian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry (Qld Branch), secretary of ANZAP (Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontists) and instrumental in the establishment of Australasian Osseointergration Society (Qld Branch) as well as its inaugural secretary. He is also a member of numerous other professional associations including the Australian Dental Association (ADA). Tony prolifically presents continuing educational programs teaching dentists both nationally and internationally and is regarded as one of our country's best dental educators. Tony Rotondo was awarded Digital Design Master by Dr. Christian Coachman, the inventor of DSD.

    Specialist prosthodontist

    Dr Tuan Dao is a registered dental specialist in the field of Prosthodontics in New South Wales. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003 receiving a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours. Dr Dao then worked in private practice in Sydney for two years. During this time, he undertook and passed the Primary Fellowship exams for the College of Dental Surgeons. In 2006 he was accepted by the University of Sydney to undertake three years full time postgraduate specialist training. During his training Dr Dao’s interest within the field of dentistry extended to complex patient care and complete oral rehabilitation. This cumulated in the receipt of the 2007 Young Prosthodontist Award from the International College of Prosthodontists.
