Oral Surgery – Cadaver Course – Module 4

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Demonstrate the safe and effective use of Luxators and Periotomes

Discuss anatomical structures at risk during Exodontia and Minor Oral Surgery procedures

Demonstrate an emerging understanding of access flap design and safe and effective tissue handling in raising a surgical access flap to protect adjacent anatomical structures whilst removing teeth

Demonstrate safe and effective techniques removing bone and sectioning roots to assist in removal of single and multi-rooted teeth.

Discuss safe and effective techniques to stabilise and assess an Oral-Antral Communication and the need to preserve tissue to allow formal repair if needed

Discuss safe and effective adjunctive techniques to achieve adequate local anaesthesia for Exodontia and Minor Oral Surgery

Demonstrate the relationship of the dentition to the maxillary antrum and to describe techniques for the management of the acute perforation
