And we thought 2020 was challenging! With the year that 2021 has been, NZDA has endeavored to bring to members a wide array of high-quality continuing education and support through the many ebbs and flows of COVID-19. This special edition series brings to you some of our speakers initially planned for the NZDA Conference with a special focus on areas of relevance for COVID times. Support NZDA and join your colleagues online for a series of insightful webinars that delve into patient care, patient management and selfcare. This series aims to provide convenient and affordable after-hours education saving you travel and time off work. Registration is available for individual sessions or register for the whole series and save. These webinars are available to dentists and dental specialists. Content will be relevant to young dentists as well as seasoned practitioners seeking to update their knowledge. Participants will receive a one-page summary the day after the webinar.     Prof Tony Pogrel

    Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon

    Professor Tony Pogrel received his dental degree in 1967 from Liverpool University in England and his medical degree from Aberdeen University in Scotland in 1974. He then received further general surgery training and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training in Great Britain, Holland and Miami, Florida. In 1979, he was appointed consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Peterborough and Cambridge in England and since 1983, has been on the full-time faculty of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a former chairman of the department and is currently a professor. Dr. Pogrel holds both medical and dental licenses in California and is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International and American Associations of Dental Research and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons.Dr. Pogrel has more than 200 publications in the literature on a variety of topics and is a frequent presenter at specialty meetings nationally and internationally
