Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation & Analgesia in the Dental Practice
Help your patients relax and provide them with a more comfortable and pleasant experience.
What you need to know to confidently administer Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Sedation.
Nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation sedation can create a positive patient experience. This form of sedation continues to be the safest modality dentists have in providing in-office sedation and analgesia.
Are you considering administering Nitrous Oxide in your practice? Or, would you like to expand your knowledge of Nitrous Oxide to feel more confident when administering?
This course will review physiology and anatomy concerning Nitrous Oxide sedation, including its application with various medical conditions and its use in children. Indications, contraindication, pitfalls, emergencies and practical application will be covered.
There is a high practical component, with the topics of record keeping, monitoring, and patient access for Nitrous Oxide also being discussed. The aim of the course is that you will immediately be able to exhibit what you have learnt to confidently and safely administer Nitrous Oxide sedation in your practice.
Participants will learn:

  • How to properly use and service the delivery system
  • The relevant pharmacology of Nitrous Oxide
  • Indications and contraindications of Nitrous Oxide
  • Advantages and disadvantages of Nitrous Oxide, including what medical conditions it can be used in
  • Complications of Nitrous Oxide
