Aims: The aim of this training is to lay a strong foundation for advanced aesthetic and restorative care for the patients by focussing on key elements like patient examination, direct & indirect restoration techniques, occlusion principles and management of missing dentition.
 

Learning outcomes: At the end of this training, delegates will be able to:

1.     Know the essential steps for new patient examination.

2.     Identify, and locate the details required to make a full examination.

3.     Develop good practice in patient examination for evaluation to provide advanced aesthetic and restorative dentistry.

4.     Recognise the importance of prevention and stabilisation.

5.     Create an aesthetic and functional outcome with direct composite resin.

6.     Know the steps involved for an effective bond and finishing process for direct anterior composite restorations.

7.     Create an aesthetic and functional outcome with direct composite resin.

8.     Know the steps to produce direct posterior composite onlays.

9.     Know the principles of restoration design and tooth preparation.

10.  Appraise and select the most appropriate material.

11.  Design the most appropriate provisional restoration.

12.  Know the principles of restoration design and tooth preparation.

13.  Apply occlusal principles.

14.  Analyse the patient’s occlusion.

15.  Recognise the correlation between aesthetics and function.

16.  Apply occlusal principles to clinical practice

17.  Know the principles of bridge design and application of minimal invasive adhesive bridges.

18.  Apply the principles of partial denture design to optimise for a functional and aesthetic outcome.

19.  Know the prosthodontic and aesthetic principles for implant rehabilitation of the missing tooth/teeth in the aesthetic zone.

20.  Know the restorative and prosthodontics phases for rehabilitation with dental implants.

• Unit 2: Foundations of Direct Aesthetic Restoration
• Unit 3: Foundations of Indirect Aesthetic Restorations
• Unit 4: Foundations of Occlusion for Aesthetic Dentistry
• Unit 5: Management of The Missing Dentition
