COURSE DESCRIPTION

Fixed Prosthodontics – Teeth is a comprehensive 3-day course which delivers lectures and practicals via didactic content, clinical simulation and panel discussions. FPT is convened by Dr Agnes Lai, whom brings exceptional experience in clinical practice, prosthodontic professional education and – in particular – events of this course format. She has developed an integrated, intuitive and innovative course schedule which addresses all facets of prosthodontic procedures and treatment planning for Dentists of the broadest experience ranges. Agnes is joined by six presenters and clinical supervisors including dental specialists, leading university educators, a dual-qualified Dentist-Solicitor and a Dental Technician.

This course is not suitable for Dentists seeking training in complex and full mouth rehabilitation

The curriculum for this course includes:

  • The core of fixed prosthodontics topics in lectures and panel discussions which include insights into interfaces with laboratories, removable prosthodontics, interactions with the disciplines of endodontics, periodontics and orthodontics, and fixed implant-borne prosthodontic concepts.
  • The innovative use of the hybrid Presenting Condition model which is generated via the collective input of all participating dentists prior to the beginning of the course. This unique model, reflecting the fixed prosthodontic curiosities of all participants, forms the central clinical sample for discussion throughout the entire course.
  • The use of digital scanners to assess tooth preparations. Attendees will each receive a 3D printed model of ideal preparations and a customised bur block with a full complement of burs used by our Prosthodontists.
