Hear from international speaker Professor Alejandro Hepburn about the advantages in the restoration of endodontically treated molars, including the basis for proper material selection and analysis of clinical cases.
Endocrowns turned into a very appropriate alternative to posts and crowns when performing the restoration of badly damaged molars. This conservative restoration approach offers several advantages, such as shorter working processes and thus higher comfort for the clinicians and patients, less tissue wear when performing the cavity and avoiding the use of endodontic posts. Nevertheless, there still exists some sensitive aspects in the working technique, such as the selection of the materials. More elastic materials offering an elastic modulus close to the dentine have shown better mechanical behaviour, especially when working over badly damaged teeth. We will discuss these aspects and others retained with the endocrowns working technique through the analysis of different clinical cases.
