Course Outline:
Part 1: Clinical Excellence with Resin Composite
In our daily general practice, composite restorative treatment is probably one of the most economical and yet conservative dental services we can provide to our patients. These patients are attracted to its relatively low cost, tooth-colour aesthetic and ease of availability. Composite, however, takes time, skills and knowledge to master well. This lecture will discuss the management of various restorative scenarios in daily practice, using modern composites, both via a direct and indirect approach. Clinical tips and tricks will be shared for beginners to advanced users, to achieve predictable excellence and aesthetics in composite restorations.
Part 2: Clinical Excellence with Resin Infiltration
White spot lesion is a common occurrence on natural teeth in the Australasian population. It encompasses a general range of findings such as enamel decalcification, fluorosis, and developmental enamel defect. While most of these features can be non-progressive and thus remain non-debilitative to the patients, they can however be aesthetically displeasing. For some people, it could be one challenge away from the perfect smile that they desired. Many solutions and treatment modalities have been proposed to manage the white spots appearance, with an emphasis in minimally invasive approach.
In recent times, management with ICON resin infiltration has been gaining popularity. The treatment is predictable and extremely conservative. This lecture will discuss the workflow involved, beginning with the differential diagnoses, treatment planning and data collection, to the detailed steps of the clinical procedures.
