Back To Basics Part 1: From Start To Endo

Event Details

Reviewing the basic principles of endodontic treatment

The latest trends, developments, and techniques in the evolving world of endodontics can be confusing and difficult to evaluate, especially for recent graduates at the beginning of their careers.

The objective of this one-day lecture program is to review the basic principles of endodontic treatment and prepare the general practitioner to perform endodontics on a routine and predictable basis.

Topics include endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, access cavity design and canal location, length determination with electronic apex locators and radiographic techniques, root canal preparation principles and obturation of the root canal space.

This lecture day is a prerequisite to attend a two-day limited attendance hands-on workshop, ‘Back to Basics – From Start to Endo: Part 2’ on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 January 2022.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a systematic approach to the diagnosis of endodontic cases
  • Understand the most effective clinical tests that will facilitate that correct diagnosis
  • Improve endodontic outcomes by improving the accuracy of working length determination
  • Identify the objectives in root canal preparation
  • Recognize how these objectives can be met with modern instruments and techniques
  • Understand the role of irrigation and medication in endodontic treatment
  • Understand the goals of obturation and how to achieve them with different materials and techniques
