This hands-on course is designed for Dentists.

COURSE OVERVIEW

In a world that is focused on beauty, dentistry is increasingly becoming an integral component of aesthetics.  As a dentist we are continually striving to perfect our art, and in a demanding environment we need to make sure our tools and techniques deliver consistent and predictable results. 

This course outlines:

  • Considerations of aesthetic options as well as exploring pros and cons of these
  • Material choices including clinical applications and tips
  • Multi-strand treatment modalities
  • Layering composite resin techniques
  • Colour mapping and shade selection. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand and apply clinical reasoning to identify underlying factors in aesthetic deficiencies
  • Understand considerations in achieving the ideal smile
  • Identify tooth form and function and how to achieve aspects of primary, secondary and tertiary anatomy
  • Understand colour and it’s application to direct and indirect restorations
  • Understand and apply polychromatic layering techniques for composite resin
  • Understand and apply tints to achieve enhanced aesthetic results
  • Perform mock ups and stents 
  • Apply enhanced finishing and polishing techniques.

    Dr Lan Tran

    Bachelor of Dental Science

    Dr Tran graduated from the University of Queensland in 1995 after completing two published research projects and my Bachelor of Dental Science. Lan has taught in the dental industry since 2001, with roles as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a KOL for several Dental Companies. She has been awarded a Distinguished Speakers Award as well as having been inducted into the Speaker’s Hall of Fame for Orthoworld. She maintains a busy private practice that focuses on cosmetic dentistry and uses injectables regularly to manage headaches, migraines and TMJ.
