Overview
Combining resilience with aesthetics, the use of paediatric zirconia crowns is an exciting treatment option for the restoration of primary teeth. This combined blended learning program has been developed to provide you with all the information you need to incorporate this clinical technique and build your practice. The online lecture component provides a comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundations and will be followed by a workshop providing practical training in the sizing, preparing, fitting and cementation of paediatric zirconia crowns. Clinical recommendations including case selection will be reviewed as well as practical tips to overcome common problems. This program will address potential issues, offering solutions for concerns about cementation, wear and durability to enable clinicians to offer this increasingly sought treatment alternative with confidence.

A short MCQ (multiple choice questions) to cement your knowledge on the lecture topics. An additional one hour of Scientific CPD is awarded.
Online Live Q&A Session for follow up questions and interaction with the presenters.
Hands-on Pre-clinical lab session – this session is only available to participants who have first completed the online blended learning lectures, MCQ and Live Q&A session.

Dr James Lucas AM
Leading Paediatric Dental Specialists in Australia
Dr James Lucas AM is one of the leading paediatric dental specialists in Australia. He has extensive
experience in paediatric dentistry and has been a consultant and Deputy Director of the Dental Department
at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of
Melbourne and has acted as an examiner for postgraduate training throughout Australia. James has
lectured extensively both in Australia and internationally and his areas of expertise are the management of
dental trauma and the management of medically compromised children. He has published a number of
research papers and book chapters and has also co-authored a children’s book about dentistry. James was
a visiting consultant to the National Hospital of Odontostomatolgy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for 10 years
where he was involved in education and a project in the evaluation and treatment of children suffering
with cleft lip and palate in Southern Vietnam. James has been President of the Australasian Academy of
Paediatric Dentistry and also the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry. In 2019 he
was awarded the honour of being madea Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to Paediatric
Dentistry and the dental community.
