ADVANCED Implant Placement

Event Details

OVERVIEW

Advanced implant surgery- Complex cases with sinus augmentation (Transcrestal and Lateral window), simultaneous bone augmentation, and “all-on-4 style” implant placement.

This five-day intensive program is designed for dentists already placing dental implants in their day to day practice. This program will focus on advanced cases involving compromised sites, bony deficiencies and sites that require sinus augmentation. You will be introduced to your patients where you will do a clinical examination and digital scan for guide fabrication. Instrument selection, equipment and sterile work protocols will be discussed and implemented to set up your surgery ready for your procedures. You will perform implant placements on your chosen patients with simultaneous sinus augmentation and grafting, or angled/ bone grafting implant techniques. Primary closure suturing techniques will be used to ensure adequate healing. We will cover surgical healing complications and their management. You will receive follow up communication and records of your patient at ROS and second stage surgery/ integration testing so you can follow your patient’s implant integration and success. You can customize this course to your needs in terms of procedures you would like to complete.

During this time the treatment of patients with facial injuries convinced Dr Lincoln that Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery would be his chosen field. A year spent working in Ear, Nose and Throat as well as General Surgery in Rockhampton as a registrar furthered his varied experience prior to gaining a position in the highly sought-after lateral entry Dentistry program at the University of Queensland. The position allowed Dr Trent Lincoln to work within the Oral and Maxillofacial units of the major Brisbane Hospitals whilst studying Dentistry. DR TRENT LINCOLN Sunshine Coast After completing Dentistry, Dr Lincoln was accepted into the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program. During this time, Dr Lincoln trained at most of the major Brisbane hospitals including: Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Mater Hospitals, Royal Children’s and Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, Ipswich and Logan Hospitals. A year of training spent in Townsville also allowed exposure to rarer and later presentations of Maxillofacial disease and injuries than that seen in the larger metropolitan centres. Dr Lincoln has a passion for replacing single, multiple and especially a full arch of teeth utilising dental implants. Dr Lincoln sought further training in Zygomatic Implants in Hong Kong in 2017 and regularly enhances his advanced skills in Dental Implantology, bone and soft tissue grafting by attending courses and conferences around the world. Dr Lincoln is an internationally-published author and researcher in the fields of: piezoelectric third molar removal; use of local anaesthetic in removal of teeth; paediatric orbital fractures and return to contact sports following cheek bone fractures amongst other topics. Born and raised west of Rockhampton, Trent had always dreamed of living on the Coast. Trent’s wife Alison was raised on the Sunshine Coast and this combined with the relaxed lifestyle and beautiful beaches made the Sunshine Coast an easy decision to live and work for many years to come! Outside of the practice, Trent enjoys spending time with his family and young children, drinking espresso at any one of a number of excellent Sunshine Coast Coffee Shops and visiting the beach. Trent is a fan of multiple sports including: rugby league, rugby union, golf and cycling and has plans to upgrade from the novice surfer category after realising his dream to live on the Sunshine Coast!
